Can anybosy recomend a radio scanner for airshows?

grab a 2nd hand transceiver off ebay, that way you can give the pilots some live feedback, sure they would appreciate it

I asked Nevada Radio for their recommendation for a scanner for civilian and military ready for Waddington at the weekend, they recommended the GRE 295, £120 through their amazon store. There is a used one on ebay for £95 at the moment.

Look up the unidem bearcat scanners, they have a feature called close call. They will turn to any local frequencies that's currently broadcasting, I've got the USC230 which is over budget at £100ish but this feature is available on cheaper models.

They will all do what you want but close call might mean you end up listening to a lot more.

I might get a transceiver, and ask one of the chinook pilots if they'll give me a lift home.
