Yup it used to be mine
I ran it for the last three and a half years, it was very reliable.
The only reason I let it go was due to a combination of reasons, Me and Mrs Dan had a baby boy in Feb and it simply wasn't getting used, my job was looking a bit flakey and I started taking flying lessons something had to give.
Twas a really tough decision as I had gone through 2 redundancies and still kept hold of the Fyffes Special.
For referance the car had a number of appearances in Sprint most notably Feb 2003 when it was on the front cover with a number of other Bristol members, and also June 2002 where it had a double page spread just inside the front cover (as demonstrated but the loverly pebbledash).
It was originally a Portfields Demo hence the colour scheme and the fact it had their (at the time) TVR1 plate (remember the Griff 500 was top of the range when the car was new).
Anyhow, I hope you mate enjoys it as much as I did. If you want to know any more feel free to pm me.
Cheers (a very TVRless) Dan

Dan, i'll take good care of your old love of your life.
Glad to hear it
It was a great car, the solid yellow paint is very resistant to stonechips, which was commented on, on a a number of occasions.
I was also asked to display the car on the club stand for the 2003 Bristol Classic Car show, and Tony Connor was very fond of it from a photographic point of view (in fact a bit too fond, alegedly it got to the point where it had appeared so many times in Sprint he made a concious effort to not publish any more pics
) Cheers Dan

My old Cerbie was originally a Portfield demo and was first registered TVR1 for a while.
Subsequently found out it was their regular track day weapon as well which might explain all the sh!te it gave me !
Wonder if this was the case for all their TVR1 regustered cars?
Matt
I remember doing many laps in this car around Goodwood. I also had a Yellow Griffith 500 with TVR1 on it. The number plate was owned by Portfield and was on at least 3 Yellow Griffiths.
Griffmeister said:I guess that would have been around 1999/2000 then. It was at that time that I bought my Griff 500 from Portfield and the Cerbera reg'd TVR1 was often in their workshops. I was told it was used by a customer of theirs who only ever used it on the track? Rich...

TVR1 was on quite a few cars as was 10TVR also owned by Portfield at the time. The factory controversally sold TVR100; however they now have use of or own TVR1.
TVR1 was last on the Typhon prototype; however the tax disc showed another reg number as it was not registered TVR1.
When Portfield owned TVR1; the number was only ever on a car if it was registered with TVR1. The DVLA did very well out of TVR1.
