Diesel injector cleaner in a petrol carb'd engine
Discussion
A question on which google seems remarkably useless...
I have a twin cylinder honda petrol engine on a rideon mower that has been running worserer and worsererer over the past few weeks, and tonight it was cutting out on idle, surging on and off the limiter when revving and generally making a nuisance of itsself. I had to use it, to trailer a tonne of sand ready for a renderer tomorrow, so in desperation hoping the carb was gummed up I chucked a bit of diesel injector cleaner in the intake and then threw a bit in with the petrol in the tank as it's all I had in the garage... and after about 5 minutes of running it's bloody perfect and idling like a swiss watch
Well, a two cylinder watch anyway.
/motor mechanic genius
But does anyone know what's in diesel injector cleaner - is it different to the petrol version and am I going to return to it tomorrow to find an engine melted away like a Dali painting?
Ta!
