Does anyone know of a gearbox that can be used easily with the Subaru flat 4 to set it up in a mid engined layout?

Is it possible to modify the Subaru box to make it 2WD?

I have a feeling we could make the Audi O1X box work with adaptor plates etc but if there's an easier option, it would be great to know.

Cheers in advance,

Cheers in advance,
yes and yes.

Either use Subarus 2wd gearbox, or modify the 4wd gearbox.

Google, there are a lot of people who have done it.

I had no idea Subaru even did a 2WD box. Cheers for that.

They offer lots of 2wd vehicles. Same bellhousing pattern, although the 2wd may not be as strong.

You can buy kits to modify the rear section of the 4wd box to shorten it ( ie remove centre diff or drop gears which will shorten it slightly for fwd usage )
I think this only applies to the 5spd cars. Never noticed the same done with the 6 speeds.
