Not me but my mother.
She has somehow lost her passport somewhere between getting on the plane and passport control at Birmingham.

So whilst I'm sat here waiting for her. What do you do in this situation?

Drive to Alum Rock road for a nice curry. Or Chennai Dosa for a lighter curry.

Where has she come from? If she just flew up from London it is no big deal, but if she flew from Iraq she could be in a world of hurt. More details man.

And the basic answer, phone her and tell her to look for it. I assume she has told everybody, the hostesses, pilots, cleaners, security etc, looked under her seat, looked in the luggage rack, seat back magazine thingy etc.

Between plane and passport control I'd say.

i did this at miami last month. was going in from nassau so US passport control was on departure thankfully, didn't realise until i got to the rental desk.

still had my second passport for onward travel but turned out i'd left it in the seat pocket of the aircraft. that's be the first place i'd look.

I'm sorry, I did think you were being sarcastic but then I realised you're Australian so quickly dismissed that thought. smile

They searched the aircraft but couldnt find it, so canceled it and did some checks before letting her go.

Probably stolen to order by a highly trained secret agent for a special mission behind enemy lines.

Actually come to thing of it the Israeli secret service has form for exactly that.

That is a weird setup. Confused me completely. Especially when the dopey guy almost forgot to get some of the vital process done.
