BMW Drivers Club

I think the guy behind it (very sorry to have forgotten his name) passed away, and with it the whole impetus...I may be wrong.
IIRC he was a long standing journo / motor industry PR bod who had been through a few major manufacturers and retained an interest in BeeEms (the older the better) and Lotus.
Based in East Anglia?
Sorry cannot help further (but somewhere in my attic there are 18 months of club magazines).

The chap you're thinking of was Graham Arnold, sadly no longer with us as you say.
Graham was the marketing man at Lotus for many years and was asked to form the original Club Lotus by Colin Chapman, and he ran it until his death. After he left Lotus, he ran several other car clubs in parallel including BMW Driver's Club, one for Opel Mantas and also Sunbeam Lotus before they left Club Lotus and went off on their own.
Clearly the club magazines were pretty closely related as some of my old Club Lotus mags have the odd general advice page that said "Manta" or "Sunbeam" all the way through instead of Lotus!
Club Lotus is still going strong but I imagine BMW DC wasn't picked up after Graham died?
