West Yorkshire & York Recommended Bodyshops
Discussion
Hi PistonHead members, nice to meet you all.
Having recently had a minor accident in my car, I needed to find a good and decent bodyshop within the West Yorkshire area. Having done a bit of research on the web, including previous posts on the PistonHeads forums, the same bodyshops kept being mentioned. Therefore, I decided to do a list of recommended bodyshops, mobile bodshops and mobile PDR specialists within the West Yorkshire & York Area based on that research. Please note, that I am not affiliated with any bodyshop mentioned in this post and the only reason for posting, is to try and help other forum members out. If this post does not meet the rules, then feel free to delete. The list is in alphabetical order :-

I'm pretty sure you posted that about 6 weeks back because I replied to it.
My reply is here, but looks weird because someone has removed the original post from the thread.

Hi All that jazz, nice to meet you. Honestly, I can assure you that the purpose of my post is not for self advertising purposes and neither am I in the trade myself. I'm just a person who has had a few bad bodyshop experiences in the past and wanted to make sure that the next bodyshop that I use is well recommended and does a good job.
As previously mentioned, the bodyshops mentioned in this list I have found from reading previous posts on PistonHeads and Detailng World. All I've basically done is consolidated what I've found out in one simple list, to help others.
Yes you are right that when I originally posted this topic, the 2 posts were deleted. However, I did not explain the reasons for posting and simply just listed what I'd found out.
Again, as previously mentioned if any site admin have any issues with my post, then feel free to delete.

All seems a bit sus to me. When people made the effort to reply to your previous posts with recommendations you never had the courtesy to come back and thank them and now you're posting the exact same thing again 6 weeks on. Why should any of us bother if you're going to ignore the advice and comments already provided?

Hi All that jazz, many thanks for your recommendation re KiwiColour and the excellent job they did for you. KiwiColour are highly praised on the web and I will definitely get a quote from them.
However on the other hand, there are many other bodyshops recommended by forum members within the West Yorkshire Area.
Do I not have a right to get quotes from them also.
Like you, I'm quite fussy when it comes to bodywork etc etc. I've had a few bodyshop jobs done in the past where I've paid through the nose and ended up with poor quality work. Didn't want that happening again, hence why I ended up doing some research on the web.
Like I said if you have any issues with any of my posts, please feel free to report them, however please do not go on about them being sus. All I'm trying to do is help others who might be in my position and need a recommendation.
Thanks

Ok. You have posted this twice before, it has been reported and subsequently removed. Yet here it is again.
I'm happy to give you the benefit of the doubt James that it is not self advertising, because let's face it, there are a lot of different companies listed and, you can't be connected to all of them. It is however direct advertising for the companies listed which gives them an unfair advantage over those that are not.
In any case, I'm not sure that a big, long a-z list will particularly help people. They are not recommendations, just data which can easily be found on Yell.com or Google.
When people are asking for recommendations, they want details. How the customer was treated. Was the cost reasonable? Personal experiences like that, which I am afraid your list, well meaning as it may be, would not give. Also, a lot of requests for recommendations are for specific marques or car types, which need individual responses.
I have removed the advertised links but wanted you and others to know the reason why rather than the thread simply disappearing again. Hope this makes sense.

Joined Detailing World on 21st June, joined here on 23rd June. Joining the forums solely to provide recommendations for body shops is very public spirited but I hope the OP can see how some more cynical members may be suspicious.
Let's hope that the list does not appear on any of the other PH forums. Thanks
