i have obtained an Omex 100 ecu with an engine. I have been trying to download/read the settings via the Omex 2000 software.

I have read the manuals, but cant get the laptop to read the settings. I kind of get the idea that perhaps you cant download, only upload. But I cant think that would be correct.

Help needed. Thanks

So your issue is you cannot get the laptop to communicate with the ecu ?

So is the ecu powered up ?

Are you using the correct cable ?

Is your laptop configured to work with that cable ?

Omex would not work via USB - serial leed. Tried it on the office PC and it worked staight away. I use the laptop & leed on my fitted ECU, so didnt suspect that initially.

Quite a difference in the maps though. Up to 10 deg.

When using a USB-serial adaptor, it is ALWAYS the first area to look at when comms problems exist.

yes Spot on, serial to serial def most reliable especially if flashing firmware etc thumbup FTDI chipset serial to USB are more reliable generally but still don't think you can beat above serial to serial for comms smile
