That RS has got the rare "conservatory" option. Stiffens it up no end. Apparently adds £20k to value...

You've got to put a lot of lightweight bits on to counter the girders that strengthen the chassis too!

Awful wheels (who puts on gold wheels except a chav and a scooby fanatic - usually one in the same wink) I know BBS similar were fitted to the RS but at least they were silver!

As far as i know the RS were all coupes??? ie no targa and also had the whale tail spoiler???

And wsnt it a special 3.8 not a 3.6?? and what the hell happened to the bumper mounted lights?? seem to be missing. They were on the RS for sure lol

If your gonna replicate something at least start off with the right body!

RS wheels were Magnesium Cup 1's, so nothing like BBS

RS's had the standard C2/4 electronic spoiler

Blueprinted 3.6 was standard

RS did not have bumper mounted spotlights, they had a 'dummy' clear cover with no lights behind

While 'virtually RS spec' is clearly wide of the mark, part of me thinks it looks pretty good and is nicely done. The interior looks particularly tidy. However, the other part part of me says that they've ruined the essence of the Targa which should be a comfortable weekend cruiser with the roof off. Stiffening it up with solid top mounts, strut brace and I'm guessing, pretty hard suspension could make it pretty waring after a while. Not what Targa cruising is all about. And I'd be very surprised if it sells at any where near the asking price!

I suspect that it's a bit more fundamental than that. The targa with stiffer suspension will just be a dog. I've seen jellies wobble less than my 930 targa! I can't imagine how bad it would get with no compliance in the suspension!

For someone deluded enough to think that these "virtually" RS modifications "improve" a 964 Targa then £35'000 is probably also a reasonable price!

You're a Porsche driver...on a Porsche forum and you're not sure what specs an original 964RS was. So most people out here wouldn't have a clue either. ;-)

Maybe it's one of those 2 for 1 offers that keep popping up on here at the moment. hehe

I'm thinking why would you use a C4 Targa as the starting point for an RS replica. Nuts!

Yes* biggrin

If it wasn't advertised as virtually an RS, and was a tad cheaper, the above "yes" would be the truth. smile

*Um, not really..

Just WHAT RS are you referring to? I am particularly interested in the 'bumper mounted lights' that you feel 'were on the RS for sure lol'

Oh and James...checked out your garage....great deal on your 911 but boy are Fiestas pricey in Australia....and can we set up a business dumping...sorry that should be 'exporting' UK MGF 135s to OZ...We could make a killing on that if you can get a fool to part with 35 grand for one over there........ smile
