So I was driving back from Skydiving today in the sun... all in all a great feeling and I was very much in a good mood, enjoying some back roads home.
Anyway I was driving through a 30 when I hit a speed hump, one of those ones painted the same colour as the road and it had no markings on it so I didn't see it till it was to late... And it snapped my LH side back box tail off.

I cried a little and swore a lot... but managed to limp her home making a lot of noise.

So I need new exhaust from the cats back, and funds are short as I have just retired from the RAF and currently haven't got a new job! SO does anyone have a 2nd hand system for sale as I can't fork out for a new system at the moment!

My exhaust is aftermarket and goes from the cats all the way back with no breaks, is that a standard setup?

If it was a speed bump which was not highlighted or warned about, I'd be banging mad on the councils door with photographic evidence without a doubt....

I have a spare OE 4.2 back box at home but I am nowhere near Reading (although used to live in wargrave!).

One piece from the cats back is definitely not standard I am afraid. Can the tail pipe not be welded back onto the box?

Cheers guys, appreciate the help!

From having a look I'm going to need a system from the cats back, mine doesn't have any break points! I cant weld it back on as its gone right at the seam.

Balls, anyone got one for sale from the cats back?

I've got a spare stainless centre section cluttering up my garage. You'd need to organise some rear pipes but if you're interested drop me a PM.

Hi Brett, sorry I can't help with the exhaust issues, but thought I'd chip in anyway. I'm half way to Zolder for the TVR NL track day event, but I'm also hoping to do a few jumps at one of the Belgian DZs, Zwartberg or Moorsele, or perhaps both. I did one jump at Spa earlier in the year when I took the Cerb there for a track day, but it was far too cold for me to do a second...

I have a spare (quiet-ish) Powerflow exhaust going, although it sounds like you need a centre section too... I was going to put it up for sale on PH anyway, can drop you some photos if its of any help, and you can make your own decision on whether it might be suitable?

PM sent Mark and Rob. Gaz will a 4.2 system fit a 4.5? Scotty are you in Aberdeen?

Paul, I'm jumping at Netheravon at the moment, but I have only started doing my dummy pulls, hopefully on 4 sec free fall next time I go down, how long have you been skydiving?

Does anyone know if the 4.2 and 4.5 systems are different from the cats back? I know the cats are different length, but diameter is the same.

Have sent you the spec of the system I've got...

...looks as though it is suitable for both. wink

I left my complete cat back sports system with Andy at APM the year before last after he fitted my ACT set up. I offered it on here with no takers at the time and it was still propped up against his workshop wall at last year's service, so if it is still there it is yours for the taking. It was corroded but intact with no holes or damage, should have been good for another year or two.

Let me know if you are interested and I'll give him a call to check it's still there.

Tom.

Hi i am in Ayrshire but i do go to Aberdeen every few weeks to travel offshore infact today for 3 weeks. My system came off a 4.2 but it will make no odds as it is a custom system IIRC 2 1/2" so will breath fine on a 4.5. It is in 2 sections just now as the brace snapped off but i could weld it back up for you no problem. Anything to help a ex fellow forces chap out wink

The early 4.2 exhausts are a different diameter to the 4.5 and later 4.2's - see http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0...

Hi Tom

That might be ideal as I would only need it for a year max before I can afford to get a new system, is it off a 4.5?

Scotty.. I have a 2nd interview with NOV in Aberdeen next month, so I will most likely be doing the oil and gas route if all goes well!

Hi Scotty, it's 4.5, but I just called Andy and he's disposed of it. Sorry.

Tom.
