I have just returned from a 12 day road trip around Iceland. I drove 2,500 miles, and here are some of the photos:

Landmannalaugar

Skogafoss

Wrecked C-47

Vik

East coast

Myvatn cave

Krafla lava fields

Kirkjufell

The midnight sun at Godafoss

~120m down inside a volcano
Iceland is a stunning country that's a 3hr flight away. If you like the outdoors then you should go there!

I’d agree with this…

The midnight sun at GodafossGreat set, this one for me is a stand out because I love direct sun, clone out the flare bits and its a total winner. Also this one with the figure showing the scale…
Nice set, a place I would love to get too

Great shots, however it's got me wanting to go back and complete the small section of road we didn't travel on on the south east corner (from the Ice Lagoon round towards where the ferry comes in).
Mmm I feel a journey coming on next year.
Just looked back - I was there in 2008.
Here's my snaps from the trip (including some from the Faroes)
Iceland piccies

I logged the route too, you can see it here:

I would recommend the place to anyone. It's so close that it has to be worth the trip!

Is that the plane Bear Gyrlls used on one of his shows?
