Virgin Surround Sound :(

Have they recently stopped braodcasting in 5.1, as my processor is appears on to be recieving 2 channels on all HD Channels, even the latest films.......

Connected via the HDMI lead... or have I got this wrong, and it needs to be optical ? (swapped over at the beginning of year but only just recently got the time to investigate issues).

Just miffed, as there isn't that many setting on the HD Box to play with.

Football was in 5.1 on BBC1 HD last night. Virgin box is connected to amp by HDMI cable.

Can't really suggest what to look at. As you say there aren't really any sound options on the Virgin box that I can remember. I plugged it in, it worked and I haven't touched it since!

Depends which box you have.

On the Tivo you can select either Dolby Digital or PCM, if your amp cant decode the surround source.
Not sure about the standard boxes though, I'm afraid.

Anyway, weren't they doing a cost free upgrade to Tivo boxes recently?
