I hope this is in the right place boxedin

All it is, is that the OE earphones on my i-Pod Nano are - well - past it to say to say the least and I need to source a new set before I go on holiday in September.

Recommendations appreciated (and nothing daft; cost-wise)

for in ears I would go with Shure personally (I use the SE535 PTH and they are superb) most of the Shure range from entry level upwards are very good at their various price points. Just check that you get on with this type of in ear headphones before you buy (Shure and many other in ear designs use memory foam to form a seal within the ear canal to achieve noise cancelling and not everyone finds this comfortable).

If Shure dont float your boat try Etymotics, or Ultimate Ears.

For cans I will defer to others who might have more specific advice, but i would look at Grado, Senheiser, or to a lesser extent Bose.

If you search this forum you will find headphone reviews in an alphabetical listing, which contains a lot of good info.

Happy searching.

Many thanks for that smile

ETA: unconvinced on spending $275 on a set, though (on Amazon). Seems awfully expensive for a couple of earphones.

You shouldn't need to pay that much -amazon have shure se102 earphones at £53.99 new or £35.99 refurbished -alternatively have a look at etymotics.

If you just want something cheap then how about something like this, less than a tenner, very good make. No inline controls though.

Just the ticket.

Cheers for that, Odie.
