Quote for a serivce

Our local BMW dealer apparently cannot quote with a chassis number - not exactly tripping off the tongue, damned if I'm messing about looking for this.

It's an oil change for a 07 520D - how hard can it be!

They've let me come away without any price. Just strange.

You'd think that the registration number would be linked to the chassis number via their system i.e. Registration AB10 ABC = Chassis number ABC12346789

I'm sure they do it to determine the correct oil, but it's not as if a '07 BMW is going to have an obscure oil type that they wouldn't have in stock.
