Water pump on a 1.6 corsa sport

Hi there ive just bought a corsa 1.6 sport off my mate for a runabout, it needs a water pump fitting but ive been told its advisable to do cambelt whilst fitting the pump.....its on 81,000 and i dont know if its had a cambelt.....do i buy a belt or a belt kit?? Im on a restricted budget so would i get away with just a belt? would it be ok or is getting the kit with pulleys be better?
