Spares Sourcing - Warning
Discussion
I used one of the online spares sourcing sites this week I have to say the service is very efficient as I got a range of quotes back within hours. However I opted to receive the responses by text. To obtain more information or contact the individual suppliers you have to call what looks like a mobile number except that it's a 07034 premium rate number at £6 per minute. Fortunately I did not select the recorded advice option and was put through to the supplier who thankfully gave me his land-line number. I am not saying it's a scam but £6 a minute is excessive without any warning at all.
Where did you get the "£6 per minute" info from?
You should be looking at up to around 50p/minute maximum plus possibly an up to around 50p connection charge - very approximately anyway - to call an 070xx xxxxxx number from a BT landline.
Non-BT telecoms providers may charge more (or less
), and mobiles will cost substantially more (goodness, this reads like a Jeremy Kyle "Do you want putting in a sealed room and the air evacuating?" intro
) but £6/minute seems unfeasible to be honest
.
Good call (oof!
) about watching the numbers you are given to ring, and the possible costs thereof, though
