Evening Chums

I`ve hit a blip in boarding my loft, there appears to be several mice up there yikes

I have discovered where they have been getting in and will fill the hole, but need to remove the mice asap so I can finish the job.

I was all for popping the neighbours cat up there for half hour or so, but Stroppy says I must remove them humanely, so before I spend the next 3 years going round and round in circles on tintinet, does anyone have a any personal recommendations for a humane mouse trap?

I`ve found this one on the bay, any good? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MULTI-CATCH-MOUSE-TRAP-U...

Cheers
Dave

Its in the loft... the mrs isn't going to know how you removed them. Just whack a load of regular mousetraps down and if she asks you can say you caught them all and released them in the Lake District.

I'd suggest that a cat up there for a half hour every now & then for a while will make mickey & minnie go elsewhere . It don't have to catch one, the mice will sense /smell the cat & move on .

I'd kill mice in my loft no problem, and thats coming from someone who has pet harvest mice and pet rats!

I would freak out knowing they were running about in my loft tbh!!

Don't waste your time with humane traps, mice aren't in short supply.

Also, unless you're prepared to move the mice far, far away, they'll probably be back in the house before you are!

We had 4 mice in our loft recently and found the humane traps to be useless. A traditional trap baited with a Twix (use the caramel to stick the biscuit to the trap) worked perfectly.

Hmmm ok, so the verdict is the mice are gonna buy it!

If I send in the cat, is there any danger for it with the insulation?

Wouldnt fancy my cat licking itself clean having rolled about in loft insulation to be honest.

There is a danger of the cat biting the mouse in half and your loft being filled up with the rotting remains of dismembered mice.

Use a trap.

If you do use the humane traps, make sure you number the mice with a red permanent marker pen. Then after you release them a mile down the road you can place bets on who will get back to your loft first (they will).

Oh, and using a cat can't be inhumane (inhuman), as it's feline!
