Hi all - what's the consensus here for the best way to sell higher value //M cars other than dealing in to BMW dealers ?

Reason I ask is that i'm not too keen on private sales, following a bad experience some years ago.

Are there any independent dealers (eg. Bramley, Romans, etc) who people have good experiences with (thinking likely for Sale-or-Return) ?

Also, if i give the car up on a Sale-or-Return arragement, what are the conditions that people would recommend ? Having read the horror stories about Verdi, would prefer to go into any such arrangements taking all relevant precautions.

Any advice welcome.

I'd try Munich Legends or 4 Star Classics, I'm sure both do SOR

Not sure about your second choice. They are NOT very good on the mechanical side and rely upon a local BMW dealer for that side. Additionally their premium is too high in my opinion.

Romans are pretty good in St Albans,

4star are great for the older stuff (I bought and sold my 635 from/through them).

What are you selling?

Yep, I've heard good things about Romans.... Are they the same as the company in Banstead/Surrey ?

Thanks, we're looking to sell something a bit more modern - an F10 M5. Love the 635's!

Ah! in that case, not 4star's core market.

Bramley might be worth a look - they sell lots of tasty high end modern stuff.

Munich Legends did SoR on my M3 CS. They got a good price and very proactive with their sales. It was gone within a week or so of them having it! Speak to Dan or Stuart.

I can second ML.

It did take a couple of months to shift my Z4MC but it went in the end for more than I could have hoped for.

If you take it down to munich legends might also be worth popping in to see Adam who runs http://www.0260cars.com/ as they're only 5 minutes down the road.

Not dealt with him myself but have know him for years.

Thanks for the suggestion. Small world as I came across them last year when I was getting rid of my cayman. They seemed great and we had an agreement for them to buy the car until they bailed out at the 11th hour. Apparently they were bidding my car because they had a buyer lined up who pulled out at the last minute. He seems a great guy, just wish he would have been upfront about the nature of their interest, (just to avoid wasting time, as an OPC had bid the car £100 less anyway).

Anyway, business is business and they seem to have some nice stock. Was tempted to swap the cayman for a 997.2 GT3 last year before I decided to go down a totally different path and take the plunge on the M5! smile
