Hi,

I'm thinking of purchasing a vehicle, have just done an HPI check but confused about the results :

It says that there is "an interest registered against a previous plate".

Heres the results :

Plate Transfer

The current plate was transferred to this vehicle on 30/04/2011
L30RWM was applied to this vehicle on 02/08/2010
This VRM has been recorded as having an outstanding finance agreement
An outstanding finance agreement was recorded on 26/04/2011 against a VAUXHALL INSIGNIA HATCHBA
SA06*** was applied to this vehicle on 15/03/2006
There are no interests recorded against SA06***

Its a VW Golf, so not sure about the Insignia part.

Any help guys?

The private plate that was on the Golf previously is now on an Insignia which has outstanding finance.

That won't worry you.

So no issues at all, I'm not going to be stung with finance owing?

Quite normal. No idea why they report it in such a confusing manner but the golf is clear and this sort of report is very common.

I had this same issue with a car I looked at a while ago. Didn't end up buying it anyway but it wasn't something that worried me once I'd worked out what it meant.
