Brilliant! I really must rebuild those two spare engines of mine soon, watching that might just have spurred me on to strip one.

That's just superb! Very well done too. Hauling an engine about is tiring enough without having to remember to take a picture every few seconds!

Chrysler made a film (in 3D colour!) for the 1939 World's Fair which showed a car being assembled in a similar fashion called In Tune with Tomorrow then New Dimensions and later Motor Rhythm. I can only find the crappy 50s 3D version online but if one of the non-3D versions crops up online it's definately worth watching.

Great video! (But am I the only one (and probably Eric Mc) a little dissapointed it wasn't a Merlin strip and rebuild)?

No you're not. I had a wild thought that it was a Merlin strip and rebuild.

Nah, Eric would have much preferred a Griffon strip and rebuild!

Spitfire Mk IV engine, with 1500 carbs, fitted to a Mk II.

Superb piece of photography.

Pedant mode - they are HS2 carbs. Standard 1300.

Hangs head in shame.

But I will add....with long branch and those filters richer needles are essential. Original AAN or AAX are far too lean.

Excellent. I also clicked on here expecting to see a Merlin, but this is excellent all the same.
