Also how many entrants are there?
Plus how hard do they really race - I mean these cars truely are priceless and very evidently vastly less safe for a driver in an incident than a modern car so do they drive at 7/10ths rather than 10/10ths sprinting which may kill the cars.
Have you been to an historic event? If you had I don't think you'd have made that comment.Plus how hard do they really race - I mean these cars truely are priceless and very evidently vastly less safe for a driver in an incident than a modern car so do they drive at 7/10ths rather than 10/10ths sprinting which may kill the cars.

Cannot imagine thrashing a £6m one remaining classic to the limiter every gear change for 24hrs.... Deep pockets
The Le Mans Classic is not a 24 hour race but 24 hours of racing. Cars race in different classes according to age and there is a series of short races.Yes, they do race seriously. Just like Goodwood Revival.

Ok got you do lots of races over 24 hours with them ranging from 1920's up to 1989's?Yes, they do race seriously. Just like Goodwood Revival.
Is there any actual 24 hour race for classic cars where they really race them for that duration properly?

There's no race of 24hr duration for historic cars that I know of but the Le Mans Classic id as close as it gets with cars divided into six grids, each of which races during the day and also during the night. There are plenty of VSCC race meetings in the UK at which you can see pre-war cars racing too and several historic chmapionships for post-war cars - all give great racing. Is there any actual 24 hour race for classic cars where they really race them for that duration properly?

You are kidding, at the 2010 LMC we were sitting on the banking at Tetre Rouge around 02:00 watching a D Type & a Lister Jag side by side lap after lap, absolutely on the limit & drifting gently. Brake discs were glowing bright red & the noise. If I have one memory from 2 years ago it was that. Hence planning ready to leave on Thursday to do it all again. If you have any Petrol in your veins it is a must see!Plus how hard do they really race - I mean these cars truely are priceless and very evidently vastly less safe for a driver in an incident than a modern car so do they drive at 7/10ths rather than 10/10ths sprinting which may kill the cars.
