Clay Pigeon Sprint
Discussion
I'm entering a sprint at Clay Pigeon Circuit on July 1st but have never been there before. Just wondered if anyone could advise or offer any tips?

I drive past it every day, I am sure others will give plenty of advice about driving it etc. I have only driven an arriveNdrive kart there and on that it felt bumpy as hell in places. I will just say that it can get very foggy up there on Warden hill, the weather can do some crazy things like be all fogged in yet bright and sunny down in Dorchester/Weymouth. The A37 is usually very quick from either Yeovil or Dorchester if your staying locally. The hotel round the corner is a fair size, seen a fair few groups of racers in there. We use it for our car club meets its not cheap but generally OK.

Thanks for that. I left my entry a bit late, so am staying nearer Yeovil, but I'll keep that place in mind should I go back.
I've watched a few runs on YouTube and looked at a circuit map, so hopefully I'll at least have an idea of where to go. It does look pretty narrow in places? Each run is a lap & a half I believe. I only do sprints for fun anyway, but it would be nice not to get lost after the first corner!

Not been there for donkeys years but iirc some of the grass 'runoffs' are pretty narrow and can slope quite sharply down from the edge of the track, so stay away from these, particularly if its wet. Also some sections are pretty 'nadgery' even for a kart, so probably difficult to get to flow in a car.

Assume the BMW is yours, watched one of your practice runs before lunch, very sideways and well controlled
nice photos, that is my GT3, before i got evicted by a mini-owner, having asked a marshall where to park, he stitched me up and told me to park in the mini spaces, whilst they were out on track.

Mine is the orange/black e30 with the chicane shaped knock in the splitter.
I heard them call you on the tannoy.
Loved your GT3. Do you take it on track?
Hope you didnt suffer to much damage, the BMW if referred to was the white one in your photos, not going for fastest time, but plenty of points for entertainment.

Scott Boulton got a few and even knocked up a couple of photoshopped ones of me as if I'd actually made it to the event!
