Hi,

At the risk of becoming annoyingly repetitive which one of these would you buy and why. I will be doing around 4000 miles a year, 1 to 2 journeys a week, in summer and winter and the car will live outside

Hi Nick, I would buy the 4.3 Pre-Cat, lovely colour combination, and looks great from the pictures. I may be bias as I have a 4.3, but they are so sweet and smooth and of course that beast is always lurking, especially with the pre-cat sound, can't beat it. The 500 HC, and 4.0L look good cars also, you really have to go and look, try them out, and come to your own conclusion at the end of the day. For the money if you had the room and extra cash the 400SE Wedge as a companion to the Griff would be great. All the best, and happy hunting, Pete

That is the one that stands out for me, but it has been for sale or some time and is it to good to sit outside in the winter.smile

Wonder if he would put it on one side for a year or so while I save up some more wink

Nick

Hi Nick, I am lucky to have a large garage where my Griff occupies one half, but if well prepared and looked after they will be OK outside. I would recommend some sort of quality cover as you do not want water seeping in or mildew growing. Be sure you thoroughly go over all the electrics and make sure they are sound, and of course the chassis which benefits from yearly cleaning, touching up with paint and a thorough wax oil (or equivalent). The body work will need to be kept protected also so any of the well known sealers or protection coatings from the likes of Auto-Glym or Maguiars. At the end of the day the car will need to be used and/or started regularly, to keep it running sweet.

I do not think a dealer will keep a car for a year for you, it is worth pushing the boat out if you can now for a 4.3 as prices are on the rise. All the best, Pete

I'd agree with others and buy the blue and cream griff.
Great colour combo and my fav alloys on a griff.
Ditto pre cat comments.

If you will cherish it (which im sure you will), i'd wait until u have garage.

Nick,

I'm biased as it was my car til recently, but I'd buy the third one. I always meant it to be a keeper (my head was turned by a great T350) and it lived outside a lot so I know it'll survive. It's decent enough for a 4 litre - 225bhp on Joolz' rolling road - and since then it's had a new ACT stainless Y piece and exhaust and felt like it breathed better.

The advert doesn't mention all the work I had done to it and if I'd had the cash I would have kept it. I miss it. With the new exhaust it sounds thunderous. PM me if you want any details or speak to Track V Road as they've done most of the work.

That said, a 4.3 would be tempting.

Hi Nick,

Hoping I'm not breaking any rules here?

I own the 5.0 in green and I used to own the 4.3 at TG's....so I can tell you a fair bit about both if you would like a chat. If you look at my website (Cars sold Classic section) you'll see photos of the 4.3 when I had it in stock, must be about 3yrs ago now, but I don't think it's done many miles since then from memory.

Hope that helps,
