Hi there

Had to get my car recovered Wednesday evening as I got a flat on A500 dual carriage-way, nail in tyre. Rang Porsche assistance and the car was recovered 15 minutes later by Mansfield on a flat load.

Took my car to work and the next day I got the tyre repaired. On Thursday night I washed the car and noticed 3 dents in the front bumper.

Two are just above the lower front splitter where the car has obviously bumped into what I can only assume is the winch they use to pull the car on, the guy was operating it from the rear so obviously never spotted it got a bit too close at the front.

So whats obviously happened is the force against the front plastic bumper has caused two dents just above the lower splitter and one to the right of the number plate just above it where the bumper naturally curves, no doubt obviously from the force below.

Now thing is you can hardly see these dents, but I know they are there and its really playing on my mind. I called Porsche assistance Friday to complain but it was after 4pm and the department was close, but they said my call would be logged and to call back Monday.

Problem is I signed the sheet saying all was OK from the recovery guy as I never thought any damage would occur plus the car was dirty so would have gone un-noticed anyway.

Do I have any chance of Porsche covering this? Its obviously it was done by the recovery truck due to the placement of the two dents on the lower splitter but will they just try to get out of this?

I hope Porsche do the right thing and fix it, otherwise I can see the only way to fix this would be a new front bumper and splitter as surely its not possible to remove dents from plastic or is it?

I tried to take some photos but they don't really show up, shall try again tomorrow with a proper camera.

It would be better to take it up with them before posting about it on forums.

I shall on Monday, its not like they did it on purpose, just an accident and they are hardly noticable but I know they are there so its bugging me.

Does anyone know if minor/small dents can be removed from platic though?

Heat can be just the thing for plastic bumpers that could do with a little encouragement to return to shape.

Understand that but you don't really think to check plus you only notice them when car is clean and know where to look. It's obvious the recovery truck caused them due to the position of the dents.

Some people do sign with a note saying - not checked fully or along those lines.

Not sure how relevant that would be in a case such as this, but maybe something to do the next time.
