As it says in that wonderful book... you can use all sorts of things including industrial double sided tape or even Araldite rapid. The key point is to use something to hold the insulation in place while the glue sets. The book recommends wooden blocks and lay the bonnet on top of them.

Easier still:
(1)Remove the bonnet (needs two people) by lifting and twisting the sleeve locks on the bonnet stays
(2)Lay bonnet on the ground on an old blanket.
(3)Apply glue.
(4)Place heavy objects (e.g. house bricks) on shielding and wait to set.
(5)Refit bonnet.

Guess I should stuff a couple of small children in the front bit above the radiator and lever them out when it's set..
Think I'll go with the bonnet off thing.

You know what will happen though... the bonnet catches will snap because you need the car for Sunday.

Also be a little careful with the bonnet and weights as it is a bit thin and too much pressure could cause cracks.

Pedestrian,

I've still got some sticky fixers left if all else fails.

Have a great day tomorrow.

Cheers Dan
