I have noticed in the past couple of days that when going over speed humps and when reversing into the garage, there is a creaking sound which I am thinking may be the chassis. I am wondering if it could be the plate/tray/brace that is supporting the exhaust. I had the Nitron's rebuild a year or so ago and when I bounce each corner there is no creaking, so not the dampers. Any ideas?

yes e.g. diff bush, heard esp when changing gear stressing chassis fore& aft.

You'll prolly need to have it looked at underneath, im afraid

Try spraying wd40 on the nylon anti roll bar bushes inside each wheel arch to see if that stops it

I had this recently, but it was the exhaust that was loose, it a easy fix if it is.

Thanks for the suggestions. Gives me a few places to start looking!

Are you sure its not the roof? Mine roof creeks a bit what i go over speed bumps and particularly on steep slopes where all 4 wheels arent level. Its just the fibre glass rubbing. Unless its a completely different creek altogether?

This is without the roof or rear screen in. Definitely from under the car.

Ive just had the diff bushes renewed on mine by the boys at Aeromotive and the horrible creaking noise, which sounded like moving bodywork/ fibreglass seems to have disappeared. I'm not sure where the link is with the two though.

Was there a noticeable indication that the diff bushes needed changing? I have some shunting at low speed which I've not noticed before and now this creaking. How many diff bushes are there 2 or 3 or more? Any idea of cost to change them? Car is booked in on Friday to be looked at. Cheers!

I had the same after the OT Grand Prix @ Nurburgring last year.
I also sprayed the a/r bar bushes and wishbone bushes. Seemed to do the trick.

My diff bushes could do with changing. The car should clunk when you accelerate if they are on their way out. Think cost will be about £500 to get sorted.

Deffo shunting noise especially in traffic, it was the top one that had gone and I think one of the others was on its way out. 3 bushes in total but the top one is a nightmare to swap. The bushes themselves are fairly cheap but ive had the diff out to replace a couple of bearings so I'm not sure how much they cost individually.

Mine has creaked on speed bumps for as long as I can remember and no shunting on gear change.

Mine started creaking on a euro road trip, I suspected it was the chassis brace plate thing, anyway when I got home it seemed to stop, drove it again and it started.

Jacked car up and the chassis brace thing was ever so slightly loose, nipped it up and it's now spot on smile

Turned out to be the rear exhaust brace was rubbing on the exhaust. Extra washers on each nut and all is quiet again!
