Feck, I've just found out I'm gonna be away for six weeks not the planned five weeks. Five weeks would of been pushing it (which I'll probably have to) but six weeks ???? slim chance she's gonna start after that long frown

Then again scratchchin

Can you not leave it attached to one of those trickle charger jobbies? Or get a friend to come in and start it up for you every few days?
I'd suggest leaving it at mine.....but I have only one stable wide enough for a Chimaera

The beast's living in my mates garage at the moment and there's no power... I've left her for nearly five weeks before and she's started first turn of the key (all hail megasquirt). Thanks for the thought quitelybonkers smile

I don't arm the alarm system so power drain is negligible.

Oh and I won't let my mate loose with the keys to the Tiv, he's an ex RAF electrician and he drives a Focus ST (whatever that is)

If you let your battery go flat it'll never really recover. It's a simple decision: buy an Accumate for £40, or a new battery for £80. I know which I'd do...

Correction: I know which I have done wink

Or you could disconnect the battery, but will you then be insured with the alarm not working?

Just fork out the £40, park it somewhere with power and then go away without worrying about it. It's only just over half a tank's worth of fuel.

Solar powered 12v trickle charger left outside? Maplins do them for about £40.

Solar works off light, not sun ;-)

I tried a cheapy solar panel for my motorhome, it only produced enough power to run a budgies vibrator!

Best go to a caravan type place where they sell proper solar chargers that work.

If you have no power in the garage you cant use any kind of charger and the risk of having a solar powered unit stolen is probably quite high.
I would disconnect a battery terminal or just make sure you have a set of jump leads when you go pick the car up.
