Sky HD Update

Ive been told by a friend that their sky hd box has updated software and the menus look different now.

I tried to manually update mine and there is no changes, anyone know if i can get my box updated another way?

News to me too...mine is still the same.

We've had it for a couple of weeks and it is much better. The box seems to respond far better than it did before.

if i remember with the last EPG update, the roll it out over time to different boxes. Not sure if its based on region or box make ect

You'll get it when they are ready for you to upgrade. They stagger the release to keep pressure off the call centres.

My parents have had this new software for a couple of days but I still haven't got it yet. If it makes any difference, they have the 1TB box and mine is just the regular one. I saw it earlier and the menus look much improved!

Will it need to be connected to the phoneline for this?

Only the latest boxes are being updated at the moment. If you have an older box, you'll have to wait your turn!

I only got mine installed in November, but it's the standard hd one, not the 1tb version

No need for a phoneline to get the update.

At the moment I believe its only Amstrad that are getting the updates. I've got it on mine and it is better IMO, not massively so but the extra lines of channels with the mini TV on is useful (8 instead of 6) however if you turn off the mini TV then you still only get 8 lines instead of the previous 10 or so you used to get.

I'm not sure if that means the V+ box is good or ste, but no, I haven't.

Got the update on my 1Tb box and it runs very well. A definite improvement over the old one, I think. Looks better too.

Ha ha . But no I'm not. Just the box isnt beside a phone socket and dont want a phoneline running all round the sitting room.

Mine updated itself a couple of weeks ago, can't say I have noticed a difference in performance, but it is certainly nicer to look at.
