I'm a fairly regular customer at Costco, usually for the big bulky stuff that you always use - kitchen roll, toilet roll, bottled water etc.

I also buy their large packs of fresh chicken breasts which are fantastic compared with the usual cr@p supermarket fayre.

On a visit on Saturday I bought a pack of 3 aged filet steaks. O. M F'ing G.

Amazing. Absolutely huge and melted like butter after 4 minutes a side on a smoking griddle.

Seriously one of the best steaks I have ever had (and I've had a lot of them) and in another league to anything you will ever find in a supermarket. Pack of 3 was about £27 which given each one would probably be that much in a restaurant is pretty good.

Short of finding an brilliant farm shop I dont think I could find better anywhere.

Yes I know the rules but I was so eager to tuck into it I forgot to take any pics.

It also went rather well with my 2007 Chateauneuf-du-Pape.

After saturday night I understand Vegetablearians even less. Brilliant Steak and a big red wine = cloud9

I only buy my meat from Costco mainly for the quality.

Its just as good as out local butcher.

Another vote here for Costco meat - top quality stuff, especially for the price.

Their chicken seems to be going downhill - my last lot required a lot of trimming.

Sounds fowl.

Only had one experience of Costco meat so far. It was pork which went off before the use-by date, so not a massive fan despite the many threads on here about how good their meat is.

Always found their beef and pork to be excellent, and chicken breasts to decent enough. Their Rib-Eye steaks are sublime if you cook them properly.

I've not been to Costco for a while but I recall their meat being good.

I've just got a Makro card and find that the meat is just as good. You can get a massive bone in slab of pork belly for £10 - £12. The last time I smoked a pork shoulder I bought the meat from there for £15 I think. Pics in the BBQ thread smile
