Hi,
Thinking of fitting carbon fibre trumpets to my 4.0HC, is it worth it and is it an easy job?

I fitted these on my old 4l engine ,makes a bit of difference but don`t expect to turn it in to a monster..

The short flared aluminuim one`s are a lot cheaper but i think the biggest advantage is the carbon fibre keep cooler.I would fit an insulator gasket between the trumpet base and inlet manifold while your at it.

Its up to you,the ACT induction kit with the smooth bore elbow and the largest K@N air filter is a must but you can get the short aluminuim trumpets much cheaper.Don`t forget the insulator gasket..

Contact 350matt He will sell you an insulator gasket (no longer bolts needed) keep away from the thicker gasket with longer bolts )

Thanks guys.
Only had car a few months can't stop spending money on it, but that's what you do when you own a tvr isn't it.
Loving it!!
Alex would be interested if fair price.

The 45mm trumpet base would not match up with your inlet manifold ,you will end up with a step. The bored out 72mm Plenum may help! Alex i bet you have one of those !

I wonder how it would run with the larger 72mm throttle body ,45mm trumpets and the inlet manifold ..

Does the 4l need more air ?
