(taken from the sky news website)

a 10 year old child has died in a 3 car pile-up on the london-bound carrageway of the m3 at fleet.

a woman in her 20's has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

police closed the motorway between junctions 5 and 4a to allow emergency services access to the crash scene, causing severe tailbacks.

a green skoda carrying 1 adult and 3 children was in collision with 2 other cars.

one of the children were killed and the other occupants were taken to north hamptonshire hospital in basingstoke with serious injuries.

the woman arrested, who WASNT the driver of the skoda,is being held at basildon police station and will be interviewed later.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

now then, this demonstrates our need for better levels of policing of our road network.

i know the accident has happened and that saying "what if...." wont change anything as to what has occurred BUT WE NEED MORE GODDAMN TRAFFIC COPS!.....idiot drivers are causing death everywhere and there is no real deterrant to stop them driving like .......im sorry to all the trafpol on here for saying you are no real deterrant but in my eyes its true, your regional and national numbers are seemingly a joke and the sight of a trafpol 'jam sarnie' is such a rarity on the roads that illegal and downright dangerous drivers are commiting deadly offences, safe in the knowledge that no-one will see them (apart from their victim)............THIS IS TOTALLY WRONG AND MUST STOP!

personally,im thinking about building a matt black 2.9 scorpio engined mk3 cortina 'slammer',running on twin 45 carbs to use as a daily driver.

for those not conversant in what a 'slammer' is,its a vehicle that has had concrete put into the bumpers, chassis rails(iirc),sills and doors ('slammers' are illegal in u.s 'junker racing' as they split nomal cars in half!!) along with a full rollcage, seam welded chassis and bullbars.

its getting to be 'dog eat dog' out there without trafpol 'en-mass'.......and if things dont change for the better then i will happily build the car and god help anyone who tries it on......its gonna be like a rabid dobermann pincher thats attacking a chuhuahua!!

In the last two weeks, there've been two instances of people driving the wrong way down the Norwich bypass (a dual carriageway).

Given the demands by Norfolk Plod for more cash, one wonders what they are spending it on - as there appear to be neither foot police or traffic police in Norfolk. I have seen trafpol only twice in the last month (both times speed trapping) and footpol not at all. Ever (!)

Once a month they perform "Operation Harrier" (complete with Eagle logo... eerily reminiscent of something) whereby they actually go catch some criminals.

One thing they have spent it on is a flash new building on the A11 south of Norwich, which I am informed by the local BiB is absolutely awful - probably because the idiots who designed it never asked the cops who have to work in it about what makes a good building, but rather spent zillions on "consultants".

Tinaman - dont waste the effort, get yourself a 450bhp truck! No-one farks with the towman (or if they do, they come off worse!)

Sounds like a plan
Any laws against that (yet)?

Wouldn't a bog-standard LR Defender be just as good? No law against them!
