Snake!.

Went with a group of friends for a hike in the jungle, about three hours in we had to splosh single file through a stream, and I was leading the way.

I was checking my compass and not paying attention to where my feet were going.

Suddenly a shout from behing - "Snake!"


I had stepped - without noticing - over this thing:




A Fer de Lance - one of the most aggressive and deadly snakes in the world. I stepped right over it and by some miracle it didn't strike.

Note to self - ALWAYS watch where you put your feet (jungle lesson 101)!

That's not a snake, you've come across some dirty bds jobbie in the middle of the jungle.

You were indeed lucky.

Judging by the lime green blood in the corner, I'd say you were being stalked by an injured Predator.

They hunt in jungles you know.

Custard - ha! Had the photo been zoomed out a bit you would have seen my boot print !

I felt stupid for not spotting it - whilst out walking my number one thought is 'watch out for snakes' so the one time I lost concentration was when I almost came a cropper.

She's a beauty. Surprised you didnt get tagged, but they have been known to enter farms and wait for hours before striking, so you got very, very lucky. Nice pic!
