When I bought my motor, it came with 12 months RAC Gold P and L Warranty.

The renewal has just arrived for 26.50 per month for 10 moths, interest free. Now I have not had to claim off this in the past 12 months, so I have no idea how good it is.

Is it worth it? My initial reaction is it is a good deal? Car is 7 yo Audi A6 3.0TDi Q.

Thoughts?

In respect of cars, unless it's a manufacturers warranty I've always thought a third party warranty is going to be a bit crap.

I would rather take the risk (Which doesn't seem too bad as I will always have a well serviced and looked after car.) and just maintain a fund of around £1k (Or more if you have something better than a Skoda)

With a warranty, I guess you're just paying to off-set risk really. Sometimes it will pay off, sometimes it won't.

The non-OEM warrantys don't cover "diagnosis" time,
and they don't cover all of the hourly rate of a main dealer, i.e. they cover £50 of the £120 an hour the BMW stealer chargers.

In other words, not worth a sheite.
