Funnily enough I am wink

I am going to be joined by an old friend who will also be a first timer in a Westfield. Assuming he fits that is, how I will laugh if after a flight from Aberdeen the lanky git does not fit it will be sweet revenge for all the short arse jokes at my expense over the years.

^^ Excellent! Your post reminded me, I will also be joined by a couple of other guys - another in an MX5, and a couple of guys are bringing a race prepped MINI between them, which I think will be running slicks! May try and blag a go at some point! Looking forward to it, should be a good day. Just gotta buy some new tyres and pads for the 5 and im sorted!

I plan to try Abingdon in my MX5 soon. Didn't book last month due to the weather.

Excatly the same for me. Although given the amount of track time available and the minimal amount of wear to the tyres due to a V Wet Hullavington last Friday i am inclined to say its a win win situation...

If there I'll come and say hi, I quite like the stylus so would appreciate a closer look.

Cool, I'll take you out for a ride if you like.

Probably best to let me know earlier rather than later in the day and I'm treating these early track sessions as testing for the car. Only managed to get to lunchtime before I tested it to destruction last time out wink

I'd not worry about weather at Abingdon it's a very safe track - on the June day I took a friend and let drive who had never driven on track & never driven my car before it was pissing down in the morning, he did fine.

I shall be there tomorrow in the abnormally fast mk3 MR2. :-)

Hello all. I'll be at Abingdon on the 17th August. First track day in my red RX8.

Suspect I'll be the one doing everything wrong, then later on standing by the Mazda with the imploded engine...!!

I might come and ask you for a quick ride if you don't mine. The wife has one of those and I love it to bits. Would be very interested to see what it's like on track. Is it standard or modified?

This is next Friday so starting to get excited. Although I have a slight misfire on tight right handers at the moment. Not sure if it will show up on track. Fingers crossed!

EDIT: Also picked up a nice water proof (allegedly) gazebo. We'll all look so professional hidig from the rain in it. So if you see a bloke in a yellow Westfield with PH stickers and blue gazebo that's me. I also apologise now for bad driving or stopping a session due to a breakdown!

You'd be welcome...but are probably unlikely to experience the full performance envelope, as it's my first run out in the car! Will be a softly softly approach! Also haven't had her long, and have sunk a bit of cash in to get everything ticking along as it should, so am hoping not to make something go pop too early on...!

Oh, and it's vaguely standard - uprated coils, leads, etc, etc but that's all pretty usual fare on an RX8 to keep it actually functioning - nothing too 'performance' orientated!

Hi I am after a BIG, BIG favour. As this circuit is MOD I can not come as a non driver. I am looking to purchase a Track Day car and as this is my closest track, I would like to see how its done! Would anyone be prepared to give a passenger a lift into the circuit, just to let me get a feel for it. I am having my Midlife crisis rather late in life, in my 60's but would love to get into this form of motorsport.
I used do rallying, got far to expensive! If anyone can help me, I can meet you anywhere thats best for you close to the circuit. I used to be a mechanic for 14 years so might be able to help in that area if required. Cheers and hope to see you "quick" folks on Friday.....................
