Serious Over heating again
Discussion
Help, I really need some advice. My Cerbera is in a realy poorly condition. The cooling fans will not cut in, and the result is the system boiling over, blowing apart a seal, pumping out much steam plus dumping coolant on the floor. I've had the sensors replaced twice, the last set lasted just 18 miles before boiling over once again. The car is looked after by a TVR specialist, but they seem to be unable to keep the car on the road. Anyone had an aftermarket job done to sort out their cooling? If I can't get this sorted, my Cerberas got to go and I'll end up in the land of the blue oval!! Any advice will be much appreciated. (Oh, and to answer RussellM, whats beaten my Cerbera? just about anything on the road that can do more than 20 miles without breaking down!!)

Sounds like you have airlocks in the system, which is stopping the temperature switch working as the hot water never reaches it, or a blockage in the radiator, which will have the same effect.
No idea which garage you are using, but a seriously overheating car is easy to diagnose and fix with only a modicum of knowledge. I'd take the car to someone else to have it looked at.

Agree with trooper1212 (again). Sonds like you have an air lock.
Is your radiator clogged up?
As for the fans, its a pity they dont do an override switch, to make them come on manually. I suppose its not hard to modify.
I also heard that 'water wetter' might help with the temp slightly.
Still think its the air lock/clogged rad at fault.

Usually a new aftermarket rad will be fitted by a reputable tuner with a higher output, lighter fan... if I ever have to go down that road, thats where my money will be... they look good too...

Don't waste your money on a new radiator. No Cerb every made will survive if the cooling fans aren't comming on.
Agree with trooper should be easy to sort
Agreed
I've never drove a car yet that would survive without the fans coming on (unless your constantly moving)
A garage that can't sort out an overheating problem
