New to me car has had, I suspect, some kind of body wax treatment put on it which smears badly when driving in rain.

I've tried meths and acetone but it wont come off. Any other suggestions?

Cheers

Isopropyl alcohol is probably your best bet - also might be best changing the wiper blades as well as if they have any of the crap on you might still have some smearing afterwards.

Thanks. Just realised that stuff is in brake cleaner, which I have - looks like it's done the job. Good old ph triumphs again smile

It's a double edged sword, try and clean the wipers so they don't just smear the grease across the screen and remove the grease layer with toothpaste.
