Meme thread (take 4)

Hi mods (and sorry!),

Yes, I have read the other 3 threads about its closure, and yes I realise it was closed because, as usual, a few posters had to take things too far.

What none of the threads have addressed is why the last few pages weren't deleted and the offenders banned? I know the thread wasn't to everybody's taste and there was a lot of repetition, but PH is broad church and, let's be honest, most threads are like that to a certain extent.

Any chance the thread could be reinstated with the end chopped off? Even if it is closed so no more moderation is needed?

I'm not sure why the last posts (I didn't see them) weren't just deleted and then if deemed necessary, the thread locked, not deleted.

Me three, it was a very popular thread I don't see why some posters were allowed to ruin it for the majority it had run for a long time too

On a side note I find it disappointing how quickly the other 3 threads asking this were locked, is discussion about the website not what this forum is for?

Agreed, a great thread ruined by a few.

Seems to be the easier option to just close the thread but it's impacted a lot of innocent PHers...

Edit to add - My username is related to a nickname I have from my rugby team (being Irish in a Yorkshire rugby club) rather than one of the meme's that may have partly caused the closure of this thread
