4.2 AJP

Went to start it up. Usual start up sequence with the usual constant pitch immobiliser sound but no start... The starter motor is firing the sparks and its trying to turn over just fine but engine didnt roar into life...

switched everything off waited for immobiliser to reset and try again only to get no immobiliser sound this time, and noticeable (being there was no high pitched beep) no fuel pump.

Tried a few more times. Immobiliser light recognises when i insert both the fob and press the remote but no sound and no fuel pump?

ECU Problem? We have had a load of rain recently and I have run it a few times in the wet. I have yet to check the ECu having read through a few threads on here but any one have any other ideas?

Will send you a PM with where I am at. I have an intermittant problem similar to yours but have not noticed any difference in sound on pressing black button. I am waiting for the fault to occur again as I now know what I need to check to rule out parts of circuit.

My car turns over happily but no fuel pump..... sometimes, when fuel pump works it is fine (does not cut out when driving) but if it does not go on immobiliser disarm it does not matter how much i disarm & re- arm it does not work. If I hot wire fuel pump briefly the whole system starts to work for a while. Then just stops.

Good luck. Matt
