Small, cheap, new car needed.
Discussion
I've just bought an Evora S, which is utterly amazing. This has nothing to do with the rest of the post, I'm just telling everyone
So, onto the real issue.
My gf starts a new job soon, and needs a reliable, comfy, cheap to run and über mpg little car, to do a 100 mile round trip everyday. Ideally she wants a new car, has around £1k to put down as deposit, and can afford up to £200 a month, but preferably less than that.
I'm thinking a leased diesel new Fiesta, but this isn't really my field of cars, so don't know what else to look for really.
Any suggestions?

My girlfriend's Megane. I hate it but it has leather, climate and it's cheap.
In other news, 100 miles a day is a lot + you may need to use this a bit as you've bought an Evora, which is utterly s
t for the IKEA run.
I nominate the Skoda Fabia Estate. Or my Renault
Might be a bit too big for her, she only likes small cars.In other news, 100 miles a day is a lot + you may need to use this a bit as you've bought an Evora, which is utterly s

Ideally she wants another Clio, but they are too expensive on pcp or lease.
How are Corsas these days, the new ones any good?

Fabia Estate. Comfy, silly economy and it actually works as a pretty good foil for all 4 of your cars (all of which would be crap at IKEA as an aside)
I've just popped this out of Lings, you may be able to do better through Skoda themselves as they're fairly fierce on offers

Comfortable but tinny, got new 'nimble' dash instrumentation and a bit gutless.Ideally she wants another Clio, but they are too expensive on pcp or lease.

That said, this is with driving them as part of work so too much, someone else might have a totally different opinion lol.
Il stick with the 1.9TD 306

Which will be crippling on a lease / PCP unless you know a man with a laptop....
This! Most lease / PCP will hvemilage limits way below this and you will pay heavily for excess mileage, wouldnt she be better getting a loan and buying outright? Also may I say, Worst look at me with my new Evora and 24 year old girlfriend post ever!

We have put 180,000Km on a Mazda 2 auto in just under 4 years, with nothing other than book servicing required.
The lady gets under 6L/100Km, with quite a bit of town motoring, even I get around 7L/100KM, so pretty economical, & good residuals as well.
I find it a much nicer/better car to drive than my daughters Suzuki Swift which is 2 years newer.

100 miles a day plus social milage, thats 30'000 miles a year.
get something with comfy seats!!
It's not quite that bad, it'll be 100 miles a day for the first 2 months while she is in training, then a 100 mile round trip 2 or 3 times a week once she starts her job for real. So should work out less than 20000 a year.get something with comfy seats!!
We can get a new fiesta on a 2yr lease for £200 a month for that mileage. Obviously we'll go and check out the dealers and see what they can do, but the lease maths is a lot easier to do from the sofa as the websites are all setup for it. Not quite the same for dealer finance

we also have just got some Suzuki Swifts as office run abouts- fantastic little motors. Remind me of the old mini (alot more than the new one does)
