I have been given a parking "Parking On Offside At Night" on a totally long straight wide country lane whilst attending illegal rave. BIB are parasites as there was no need to get all petty because they didnt stand a chance of shutting the rave down. Why oh why cant they piss off and find something better to do, hundreds of people enjoying themselves with no attitude or violence when the streets of the towns are full of scum commiting serious crime. The police do not do themselves any favours.

Whats the procedure for fighting such ticket and if i dont pay it what will happen? a few people who also got tickets said they had thrown 4 away in the last 2 years and never heard anything and yes they have legit registered cars.

Thats probably why - imagine driving down said long straight country road at a fair lick, with something coming towards you with headlights on. Due to lack of reflectors on the front of a parked car, you would probably not see it till you hit it! As for people getting four tickets before, do they not think about parking correctly?

Hardcore,
I think you should just pay the £40 and walk away, it's not worth the aggro. And as for the police, well, as I would say is that there are good and bad in all walks of life, and you obviously came across someone in a bad mood who told the Bibs on the street to write the tickets. Win some...lose some. Martin.

There was no danger to any cars as there was an un-obstructed view of the vehicles for 1/4 mile before them and i had no contact with BIB

Which part of the country are you in, Hardcore2000? I go to the odd party every now and then in sussex, and if there is any BIB attendance, they always seem to be very pleasant.

Why not just park facing the correct direction? It's really not that difficult is it?

You missed the point my friend, read my earlier post again!

Incidently, if someone had smashed into your P&J in the manner described, the third party insurers would certainly try to apportion some if not all of the blame onto your good self. Is it worth it for the sake of a three point turn?

have i got this correct? from what has been said, it is an offence to park, without leaving sidelights on, on the side of the road opposite to the direction of travel. is that right? not heard of this one before.

Yup, that's pretty much it.

In fact, if I remember a previous thread correctly, I think we came to the conclusion that it would *still* be illegal to park without sidelights/parking lights on even if you were facing the right way.

my car was parked with about 10 cars either side so its totally irrelevant what way my car was facing, it may make a difference what way round the lead car was though??

It's not irrelevant at all. You were committing an offence, never mind the others.

As opposed to the hundreds of complete wakers down some country lane drugged up to their eyeballs making fools of themselves in front of flashing lights, before driving home again on public roads? Plus the dealers who sold said wakers their stash "man"?

Light touch-paper, stand back.......

P.S.- Anyone remember 'The Young Ones' when they made Neil join the Police? "Open up, it's the pigs!" Classic.....

How were they to know that you would not be the last one left? I suspect that you were at the end of the line at some stage?
