Basically, the engine light came on in the OHs SLK yesterday, a guy from her work had a mobile mechanic mate to come down and run diagnostics on it this morning and it has shown 2 fault codes.
The codes are P201D and P2031 I have limited access to the internet at work and am hoping someone on here will be able to narrow down what the codes are. Going to need to fix it fairly soon as the mot is due on the 16th.

Any help and advice gratefully recieved

P201D P0172
[1] Selfadaptation of mixture formation ,: The mixture is too rich in the part load range. [P0172]

P2031 Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Circuit (Bank 1 Sensor 2)

Googled, so no guarantees, but might help narrow it down.

So do we think they will both be thrown up by one fault?

And just to further compound my stupidity, is there just the one lambda sensor in the exhaust?

No, there'll be at least 2. Possibly more.

Someone with the relevant OBD software should be able to figure out reasonably easily which one is at fault though, you can view the live data produced by the sensors. I had this issue recently, didn't take long to figure out which one was the problem.
Cheers, will get it looked into
