Currently got a 2005 Saab 93 TID, change of circumstances and going to be working local so I can get a fast saloon / Estate.

Before I was doing 20k a year I had an Impreza WRS blob eye.

So need to sell / swap the Saab for:


Petrol not Diesel
I want less than 80k on it,
2003 or newer
Saab worth about £3500 so that is my budget
Need to get a pushchair in it hence a decent saloon or estate
Want Leather and sporty looks
MPG not a major issue would like mid 20's round town ideally.

My thoughts are:
Saab 93 Aero
Saab 95 Aero
Jag 3.0V6 X type
Mondeo ST

All the Audi / 3series I have seen have got mega miles on them.

Any other suggestions please.

Your requirements are very similar to mine for my next car for a nipper on the way. For extra reliability ill also be havin a look at the Lexus IS300, or Subaru legacy 3.0, and a Mazda 6 mps is just over budget unfortunatley.

Lexus and scooby have potential, I looked at the IS200 but they were only 150bhp.

I really like the honda accord type R a lot but couldn't see any in my budget earlier.

I love having a private plate but its a PITA when it comes to selling,

Keep looking at the Mondeo ST, externally looks great, interior is same as a Ghix X we had a couple of yrs ago, nice but bland.

st220 is my favourites for this money, but I wonder if they have more problems than a Saab 9-5 aero, which is prob my no2. And if you really want reliability you need to go jap.
