Curved mirrors to stick on the rear view mirror
Discussion
My first car (a Viva HC) only had one wing mirror, so I bought a curved mirror that stuck on top of the existing rear view mirror.
This meant I could see either side of the car, but I could also see inside the car too. As I recall, it had red lines on the edge at the top - if a car was in the red zone you were too close to change lane.
I've not see one for years, but as I have a bit of a stiff neck one would be ideal, especially as it would allow me to check if littlegnu was asleep or not too.
However, all I can find are huge rear view mirrors at £35 upwards. The one I had was only a fiver I think.
The one I had was curved and stuck on the existing mirror so you could use both - it was thinner in the middle section where it went over the mirror, if that makes sense. It wasn't entitely dissimilar to a pair of folded Oakleys I suppose - just with a bigger 'thin' bit in the middle.
If anyone remembers them or knows what I mean - can you still buy them?

Ah the dear old "Paddy Hopkirk Blind Spot Mirror".
Brilliant things.
I used to do a lot of motorway driving and the first thing I did when I got a new company car was stick one of those on the mirror - they were great for allowing to be confident there was no-one on your blind spot without having to turn around all the time. Brilliant things.
I suppose these days most company car drivers just sit in lane 3 so don't have to worry about changing lanes.

Are you talking about one of these interior mirrors?
Thanks all - that is the sort of mirror I can find, but isn't the sort I'm after. The one I had was thicker at the ends.
The it had a central section that covered the top of the normal mirror - about 1cm thick I guess. It had sticky bits on the back of that to hold it on.
At either side it thickened out, and curved, so either end was kind of the shape of a pair of wrap around glasses.
Is that the Paddy Hopkirk one mentioned earlier?
Right, I can't find an image of the thing anywhere, so I suppose that answers my question as to whether or not you can still get them, but I'm now wondering if I dreamt it!
Excuse the rubbish drawing, but it was something like this (top bit is the standard mirror for scale).
The thing bit stuck on the mirror and the curved bits were than to either side. It worked very well, giving a view inside and outside the car, took up no room, and was cheap as chips (or as cheap as a gallon of petrol at least)
