Rev counter playing up/ Gemini Alarm
Discussion
Technical questions...
The rev counter on my 4.3 works OK, but stops at 1000 RPM when switched off. Not a big problem, but it just iritates me.
On the alarm front (factory fit Gemini), most of the time the alarm is excellent, arming & disarming perfectly. Sometimes however it will not arm or disarm, usually after driving it somewhere, which is frankly a pain. If I persist, the alarm will activate, by repeatedly plipping the button very close to the car, (I have fitted a new battery in the plipper) whereas usually it will work from a fair range, and even through the door to the garage. Similarly, de-activation will become tempremental, and then be fine thereafter. The alarms are obsolete now, so the specialist I consulted suggested a replacement (well he would, wouldn't he!)
Any thoughts from you guys?
Thanks in advance
Jon H

I think the sticking rev needle is a TVR trait. My 4.0 did it once - when a potential buyer was driving it!
Can't think what the alarm problem is - sticking solenoid perhaps? I know that starter motors can be affected by heat soak. Or dodgy wiring on the receiver (which is behind the dash so might get warm?)
But since a new alarm system is a few hundred £ I think I could learn to live with it.
