could anyone please reduce those picture to an autotrader friendly size of 4.7 mb.

MSpaint? You could just reduce them in there.

As above, take the photos and open them in paint, click 'resize' and then select a percentage...

thanks guys,

MS paint seems to do the job but, to which % should I reduce it to to make 4.7mb?

I did download the program above but the laptop crashes as soon as I open it

Piss around with different values, save each one and then check the file sizes you've produced.

Common sense could lead you to that one smile

One of the guys on here recommended FastStone, which is incredibly simple to use also
