Gents,

Seeking info on the detail of replacing a tired 2.5L/5spd with a 3L/6spd
The Duratec 30 is commonly available, including the Jaguar AJ30 with direct acting mechanical buckets in the valve train. (this is a good thing for my intended application)
The 6 speed ST220 box is also around the place and seems to cost around a grand to rebuild to more robust state.

Has anyone contemplated this swap?
Do any chassis changes need to occur? (for engine mounts etc0
Does the AJ30 bolt up to the manual box ok?

Is this AJ30 a simple swap or is it better to get the ST220 engine and box?
What other parts are required?
Is an ecu changes are required?
New exhaust manifolds?
etc

Cheers,

Alex

should be a fairly easy swap

but the mondeo engine is not built for turbocharging it needs diffferent pistons and rods

probably better to buy an engine from AER in the usa

interestingly it may be possible to rebore your 2.5 to a 3.0 they share the same crank

Anything AJ30 is probably Andygtt's area, I know he's looked into it.
