Getting the steering wheel off

Am I just missing a weetabix for breakfast or is there some 'knack' to getting the steering wheel off?
Undone the main nut....but not taken it off, so I don't smack myself in the face, but the dam thing does not want to budge!

I use a 3 legged puller, they come off with a crack as they become really stuck!
