Prospects as a Paralegal

Have been working in Project Management for a long time. Really enjoy (and seem to be good at) the contractual / legal side of things. Considering doing the NALP level 4 Diploma in Legal Studies, either funded by my employer or funded by me if they won't cough up. What credibility does this qualification have as a potential springboard if I decide I want to change career direction ? What prospects and earning potential exists ?

The qualification is one thing; experience, as usual, is another. However, by combining both your current competencies with a new qual could add value elsewhere such as in the NHS. The NHS is going through unprecedented change, with the commissioning side becoming more important and more profesional; your current skills, added to some legal nounce, may make you attractive...if you're quick! The "demonstrable" experience bit was my worry.
In brief my current work in an SME manufacturing bespoke capital machinery means I deal with draft contracts and schedules, initially reviewing them, assessing business and IPR risks and identifying deal breakers for either party and then negotiating final contracts, followed by execution of the job and along the way using the contract to either pursue the customer for additional costs or to defend us against the customers claims, including LDs / consequential losses and in one case a recission claim.
But how to "prove" that body of experience ????
