Recording from tv/dvd/vcr

Evening all. Need fast help here.

I have some footy matches on vhs, dvd and one later on tv I really need to get on to cd. I am trying to avoid traveling with vhs tapes as they add too much weight to the old luggage.

I am using my G4 power book which I rarely use and as such am not familiar with.

What's the quickest way of getting the goods on to a cd?
