I am facing my first service on a 2 year old v12v. Can anyone give me a little guidance on cost before I speak to my dealer. Just want to make sure that I am going to be quoted a reasonable deal.
(I am sure there was a thread on this some time back but the search service is under maintenance)
As an aside: do any other v12v owners notice some "judder" in the steering when menouvering at very slow speed when the car if first started. I don't notice anything at the end of the journey, so it could be only when things are cold. I did ask the dealer to look at it some time ago and they reported back it is the limited slip differential and therefore nothing to be concerned about. The answer made sense at the time, but nobody else seems to experience the same problem. This might be something I raise again at the service...

The google search thread does still work - kind of! Its not as good as it was before but give it a whirl you might hit lucky. Service costs on V12V is about half way between V8V and DBS costs.(I am sure there was a thread on this some time back but the search service is under maintenance)

And yes, they all have the "judder" at slow speeds its nothing to worry about.

Gavin - quoted 2nd year service costs on the V12V vary from £1150-£1500. It would appear the further north you go the cheaper it gets. Both Leeds and Wilmslow were the lowest so I went to my 'local' in Wilmslow, but you can haggle and get the price down abit. I paid £1000 for my 2nd year but some have reduced this cost further by supplying their own oil which didn't appeal to me.

It has been discussed many times and affects everyone. There was a detailed explanation around a trade off for the steering feel and pump assistance I believe. whatever the reason, it does come as standard on a V12V.
The dealer explanation on the steering shudder did make sense - now I can relax entirely.
One thing I might get them to look at, is some metalic vibration that I get coming from under the dashboard on the driver side. No major problem, but you it would be nice to lose it. Is this a common noise?
